Travel to Vilamoura

The apartment is located in Vilamoura about 20km from Faro airport. Faro is served by popular low cost airlines and surprisingly low fares can be obtained if you travel outside peak times. A car is necessary help you to enjoy your stay at Vilamoura. For your convenience, we can arrange for a local car hire company to meet you with a car at the airport. Local maps and travel information are provided at the apartment.

Recommended Self-Drive Car Hire

We use two local car rental companies at Faro Airport, and it is worth obtaining prices from both. It is essential to pre-book.

They do not have desks at arrivals, but meet you with no queuing in the Arrivals Hall, and quickly complete the formalities, as long as you have your Driving Licence. Their cars are only 50 yards or so from the Terminal, and on departure you leave them at the point of collection.

Restaurant Menu in English and Portugese

All the major car rental companies have desks in Faro airport Arrivals, but are significantly more expensive. Also, they bus you to their car compounds about one mile from the terminal.

Arrival

When you book, we will put you in touch with our friendly English Management Agent. She will arrange to either have you met at the Airport or, if you hire a car, meet you by arrangement to let you have the keys and show you around the apartment. She is there to help you enjoy your stay in every possible way.

Language

Vilamoura is Portuguese, but also very cosmopolitan. You will encounter few problems if you only speak English. Spanish also seems to be widely understood locally, despite the strong independence of the Portuguese! The Management Agent is English, and is fluent in Portuguese.
